MSSQL Database Administrator

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain SQL Server databases for both on-premise and Azure environments
• Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server products and databases
• Optimize database performance, stored procedures, and queries to ensure efficient operations
• Administer backup, recovery, and replication processes for SQL Server databases
• Implement and manage SQL Server security protocols
• Write, maintain, and optimize Transact-SQL code
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to ensure system reliability

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as an SQL Database Administrator
• Operational experience with large databases and complex systems
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent
• Experience with cloud-based database management (AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, or similar platforms)
• Knowledge of Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instances
• Proficiency in automation tools like PowerShell, Python, or Bash for database tasks
• Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and integrating databases into CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with high-availability (HA) SQL solutions
• Strong background in database design, T-SQL coding, and performance optimization
• Ability to troubleshoot stored procedures and query performance
• Experience leading or mentoring other DBAs is a plus
