Our partner is a global pharmaceutical and manufacturing company specializing in health and nutrition products, as well as advanced fermentation technologies, with a strong international presence and decades of industry expertise. They are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical accounting professional with solid General Accounting experience:

Chief Accountant Officer with English

Key Responsibilities

  • Own assigned GL areas end-to-end, including accruals, provisions, intercompany, VAT, and payroll-related balances
  • Prepare and post complex journal entries, analyse account movements, and provide clear variance explanations to stakeholders
  • Lead month-end,quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring adherence to the close calendar and timely completion of tasks
  • Perform in-depth balance sheet reconciliations, root-cause analysis, and coordinate resolution of accounting discrepancies across teams
  • Prepare the monthly Cognos Controller reporting package, including tie-outs, validations, and supporting documentation for group reporting
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Tax, and Compliance teams to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance of financial data
  • Support internal and external audits and contribute to the enhancement of internal controls, standardisation, and GL processes

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting/ Finance or additional professional certifications would be considered an advantage;
  • 5+ years of hands-on General Ledger accounting experience, ideally within an international, complex, or cross-functional business environment;
  • B2 level of English;
  • Solid understanding of Bulgarian accounting legislation and statutory compliance requirements. Familiarity with IFRS and group reporting processes is considered a strong plus;
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and the ability to clearly interpret and explain financial variances and account movements;
  • Effective communicator with a structured and collaborative approach, capable of working closely with Finance, Tax, Compliance, and Group Reporting stakeholders.
