Our partner is an Austrian company with an established boutique presence in Bulgaria, delivering premium accounting services to international clients. We are currently seeking a seasoned professional to step into a key leadership role within their organization:

Chief Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide both strategic direction and hands-on leadership of the Accounting and Payroll function;
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering expert advice and ongoing support;
  • Lead a team of accounting specialists;Ensure the accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities;
  • Oversee statutory reporting, tax compliance, and adherence to local regulations;Review financial statements, tax returns, and internal management reports;
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for key stakeholders;
  • Offer hands-on expertise in resolving complex accounting and compliance cases when required.

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and payroll, including at least 2 years in a leadership capacity; Experience in a dynamic environment, ideally within an accounting or consulting firm;
  • In-depth knowledge of Bulgarian accounting standards, tax legislation, labor law, payroll and social security regulations; Proficiency in English, both written and spoken;
  • Strong analytical thinking, organizational capabilities, and leadership skills;
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.
