About the Role
Our client helps yacht owners, management companies, captains, chief engineers, and shipyards digitize and organize the technical management of luxury yachts.
The successful candidate will work remotely on the development and maintenance of Planned Maintenance System (PMS) databases used onboard modern yachts. This role combines marine engineering knowledge, analytical thinking, and digital systems management.
A PMS (Planned Maintenance System) is a software platform used to manage maintenance activities onboard vessels. Luxury yachts contain thousands of pieces of equipment, all of which require regular inspections, servicing, and maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations and operational requirements.
The Marine Engineer will review technical documentation, identify maintenance requirements, and structure this information within PMS software to ensure accurate maintenance planning and operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Review technical manuals, drawings, and equipment documentation;
- Analyze manufacturer recommendations and maintenance requirements;
- Create, configure, and maintain maintenance tasks within PMS software;
- Build and update equipment databases for yacht projects;
- Organize, verify, and structure technical information;
- Support PMS implementation and database development projects;
- Collaborate remotely with colleagues, captains, chief engineers, technical managers, and shipyards;
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of technical data;
- Contribute to process improvements and digitalization initiatives.
Requirements
- Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related technical field;
- Previous maritime, shipyard, technical management, or marine engineering experience is considered an advantage;
- Good understanding of marine machinery and onboard systems, including engines, generators, pumps, HVAC, safety equipment, and auxiliary systems;
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, drawings, and equipment documentation;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities;
- Good computer literacy and confidence working with software applications and databases;
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment;
- Good command of written and spoken English;
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
