Our partner is a well-developed global company in the field of online gaming. Their aim is to build a strong organization in Sofia with 500+ employees and a 24/7 operations. For their newly established team and structure in Bulgaria, we are looking for an experienced and ambitious self-starter to join on the strategic role of:
HR Director
Scope of the role:
The primary responsibility of the Director – Human Resources is to create the HR function in Sofia. In addition, to strategize and collaborate with senior management in aligning and integrating department goals with organizational business objectives. This leader will leverage their years of experience in a variety of areas to be a credible and trusted business partner to the executive team.
The ideal candidate for this role would be someone who has experience in setting up the HR function within a global 24/7 operations structure from scratch. An excellent communicator with outstanding problem-solving skills and very good knowledge of local legislation and culture.
Key responsibilities:
- Build Sofia based HR function to support a 500+ employee organization
- Work in partnership with local HR agencies to develop a recruitment plan to scale the organization and enable operations to launch and maintain a 24/7 business unit
- Develop the company to be the local ‘employer of choice’ in Sofia, Bulgaria
- Set and manage employee KPIs including job satisfaction and attrition management
- Grow HR function over time to internalize the majority of HR activity
- Provides thought leadership and partners with business and HR leadership to address organizational issues affecting business performance
- Work closely with key stakeholders to make certain that projects have sufficient budgetary, staff, and technological resources
- Develops and drives implementation of HR strategies and initiatives that align with business priorities and goals
- Drive innovation in the HR field, challenge conventions, and in some cases reinvent how work is done
- Lead large and small-scale cross-functional HR project teams with a focus on continuous improvement methodology. Influence and lead team through difficult and complex efforts
- Monitor internal HR systems
- Track HR team goals and objectives
- Monitor and maintain HR departmental budget
- Develop and implement company policies
- Develop and implement improvement plans for all departmental processes

Qualifications and experience needed:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred
- 10+ years of related work experience. 7-10 years preferred in an HR management function
- Ideally experience in the online gaming sector or a similar 24/7 operation (BPO, SSC, etc.)
- Experience in a start-up environment or setting up the HRf unction
- Language skills – English to a high standard a minimum requirement. Other languages beneficial
- Strong communicator and thought leader
- An ability to manage the success of metrics defined by the project and the organization
- An ability to identify, clarify and resolve issues and risks, escalating them as needed
- An ability to review project deliverables for completeness, quality and compliance with established project standards
- An ability to review ongoing and proposed projects to identify opportunities for reuse and process improvement
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other software programs, such as Word or their equivalents
- Knowledge of Human Resource principles and practices
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple work assignments while functioning effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines, with particular attention to detail
- Extensive analytical skills
- Knowledge of common HRIS systems including SAP, Oracle, Workday, etc.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience
